Centrale Palace Hotel Palermo
View
from the Centrale Palace Restaurant “Ai Tetti”
The Centrale Palace occupies a 16th century noble
Palermo palace. Records show
that it was converted into a hotel in 1872, making it the oldest hotel in
the city. The newly renovated
Centrale Palace is a hotel that offers everything we needed to enjoy
Palermo – comfortable amenities, courteous service, a generous breakfast
buffet that fueled us for a day of sightseeing, and best of all is its
central location in the very heart of Palermo.
Since the dense and chaotic traffic of the city prohibits driving
around, we appreciated the hotel’s private and secure parking. We easily walked to most of the sights, and when we were
tired we used the public bus that passed right in front of the Centrale.
Our room was spacious and the muted colors of it décor were
soothing. It had its own
small terrace that faced the inner courtyard of the building, hence very
quiet. A nice place to read
and have a glass of wine.
Their restaurant “Ai Tetti” has lovely views of
rooftops of the city and is where we had breakfast, as well as dinner.
Their young chef, Massimo Mangano, uses the freshest ingredients to
prepare mouth-watering reinterpretations of some very traditional Sicilian
dishes. Guests should plan to
dine here at least once during their stay. |
