Hotel
Concordia Venice
Paintings and review are copyrighted work by Ginda Simpson. For the ultimate self-indulgence in hotel accommodations and
location, you cannot do better than Hotel Concordia, the only hotel that
faces Piazza S. Marco. My
husband and I recently stayed here. Our
beautifully decorated room overlooked St. Mark’s Basilica.
We were treated daily to a wonderful view of its dome and the
stunning marbles and glistening mosaics of its exterior, all recently
restored. The lovely,
lively piazzetta below where thousands of pigeons come to drink at
“their” fountain was especially charming.
Even with all the activity in the square, our room was quiet.
The meal prepared by the hotel’s 4-star Michelin chef was
superb and dinner by candlelight with a view of an illuminated St.
Mark’s will remain a special memory for a long time. From the warm and personal attention of the staff, to the
ultimate location in Venice, our stay was the best, if anything, all too
short. Oh, to be able to
sojourn here for two weeks as travelers did in the past! |
